A Local's Guidebook to Visiting Philadelphia, PA
/September 26, 2017
It's been almost a year since we've returned from our first around the world (RTW) trip. To say that it's changed us would be an understatement, but that's not the purpose of this blog post. We have decided to put our place on Airbnb to earn a bit of extra cash to help us save for our plans to start our own business in SE Asia. Between visiting our families, out of town weddings, and backcountry hiking we leave the city quite often so why not let someone else enjoy our place while we're away?
During our 16 months traveling we slept on floors, chicken coops, hammocks, boats, trains, busses, 5-star hotels, questionable hostels, and all type of abodes. We got exposure to Airbnb rentals all over the world and are now trying to implement best practices that we experienced first hand.
We rent out our entire place during the weekends and during the weekdays we rent our top floor, which we use has a yoga/meditation room (as well as my office). It helps that we have an attached balcony off that floor.
Below is the welcome booklet that we offer to our guests. In it we show where to find free parking (a valuable insider's tip), dining options, museums, and various entertainment/sites.

If you would like a hi-resolution PDF of this booklet please send us an email and we'll be happy to send it along.
